Books @ Your BMC Bookshop
In addition to books for all Bryn Mawr College classes, your BMC Bookshop also features a small but lively selection of trade books — books beyond the curriculum. Our general book displays cover a wide range of categories, from Literature/Fiction through History, Biography and Science and Math, to Philosophy and Food & Drink, plus a few books for younger readers. We have regular displays of books by Bryn Mawr authors — faculty, staff and alums — and also for authors visiting campus. At our front door, you’ll find a “Good Books Cheap” cart with remainders, markdowns and used books for as little as $2.
We invite you to check out our trade book selection when you visit the store, and we appreciate your suggestions of books that you’d like to see on our shelves. BMC authors are encouraged to let us know about your new releases. Please send title info to us at books@brynmawr.edu.

3) Use the search box on this website — top right on every page — to search for and order practically any title. This search box offers access to hundreds of thousands of books that we can readily get for you through our wholesale partners. You can identify these books by the words “Special Order - Usually Arrives in 3-5 Days” in italics. (Post-pandemic, the timeline is still sometimes longer than 3 to 5 days, alas, but we always work on your special orders as swiftly as possible.) The search works well for most all books from big New York publishers and also encompasses books from thousands of smaller companies. But there are gaps and omissions in the data, esp. if you’re looking for books from academic presses. Don’t despair if this search box fails; email us at books@brynmawr.edu and we’ll find the book for you.
Special order books can be picked up in store or they can be shipped to your address, anywhere in the US.
Faculty Book Purchases
For faculty looking for books for research purposes, we make it easy to get books and charge them to your research funds or to a grant. We discount most all purchases charged directly to BMC accounts — our pricing usually beats E-Market vendors — and all account purchases are free of sales tax. Book orders charged to accounts can be picked up in store, shipped to a home address (in the US), or delivered to your campus office. Authors On Campus
Your BMC Bookshop welcomes the opportunity to support author events on campus. Please let us know whenever you are bringing authors to Bryn Mawr! Author events are featured on the bookshop’s home page (lower right), and all upcoming events are listed here: bookshop.brynmawr.edu/upcoming-events
During the academic year (August through May), we also feature books by visiting authors on a display at the front of the store.
If you are interested in having books available for sale at your campus event site, please contact us at least six weeks in advance of your reading/talk. We are happy to support most all campus events with on-site sales — we believe pretty strongly in importance of making books visible and available any time an author is present — but we need time to make proper arrangements.
