Spring 2021 Textbook Procedures

Your BMC Bookshop stocks materials that faculty have requested for Spring 2021 courses.  Complete listings of required and recommended books are available at this link. Most everything is already in stock or expected within a few days.

Whether you are remote or on-campus, we strongly encourage you to order your books online as soon as possible. The college is not permitting students to enter the bookshop during the quarantine period; orders can be picked up just outside the bookshop by appointment.  (You will receive a link to book an appointment when your order is ready for pickup.)  The store will be open to students for in-person shopping beginning on February 22.

The bookshop will ship books to students studying remotely. Remote students are responsible for the cost of shipping.  In the US, the charge is a flat $6.00, with free shipping for textbook orders over $100.00.  For shipments to other countries, the charge is a flat $60.00, which will be reduced if the actual cost is less.  We will do the best we can to keep costs as low as possible, but our options for international shipping are limited.  Domestic shipments take one to five weekdays.  Allow ten to fourteen days for international shipments.  (Carriers continue to block shipments to some countries; we will let you know if we are unable to ship to you.)

We have substantially expanded options for digital texts.  We work with two digitial text providers, Redshelf and VitalSource, and both offer near-instant access to digital materials purchased from this website.  There is no shipping charge for digital materials.  After you complete your order, within minutes you will receive emails with instructions directly from Redshelf or VitalSource on how to start using your digital texts.

We are also working with LITS to indicate when books are available at no charge in Tripod.  These titles are now marked "Available in Tripod" in red.  Visit tripod.brynmawr.edu to access these books.

We hope that you will purchase your books from your independent campus bookshop.  Dollars spent here stay on campus, and support the mission of the store and the college.  We do not charge sales tax on required course materials, unlike others sellers.

Class at Haverford?  You'll need to get your books from their bookshop.  Their textbook lookup page is: haverford.bncollege.com/shop/haverford-college/page/find-textbooks

Text purchases are non-returnable this semester.

Spring book buyback will take place May 13 to May 22. We are also trying to schedule a March buyback to make up for the missed Fall buy.  Please stay tuned for details.

We post details about course materials (and other topics) on the BMC Bookshop blog. Here are links to some key posts:
